How to get involved if you're a:

Lunchbox Science Project a big success!

06/07/2015   Jenni

During the summer term we worked with Norfolk Primary schools on a new range of SAW projects called Lunchbox Science. Each of the eight projects focused on one ingredient from a typical lunchbox and was designed by a research scientist, working in collaboration with a professional artist and writer. See the individual projects in the schools section of the website.

Projects explored connections between agriculture and scientific research of UK crops using the SAW cross-curricular approach. The schools created innovative displays of their work that they presented at the Royal Norfolk Show. We would like to thank the following trusts and organisations for their support for the Lunchbox Science pilot project;

The Clan Trust,  The Morley Agricultural Foundation,  The Chadacre Agricultural Trust and The Royal Norfolk Agricultural Association

Lesson plans are being developed for dissemination nationally through the new website http://www.countrysideclassroom.org.uk/ which has a wealth of excellent resources for schools.  We will also be running a training workshop for teachers early next year to launch the lesson plans.
