How to get involved if you're a:

SAW at the Boston spring lecture series

30/04/2015   Jenni

Professor of Education, Louise Boyle Swiniarski has been introducing trainee teachers at Salem State to the SAW methodology since 2005.  Therefore, SAW is a recognised addition to the teachers toolkit in the Boston area.  In 2014, Prof Swiniarski published a new book entitled "World Class Initiatives and Practices in Early Education: Moving Forward in a Global Age" (ISBN 978-94-007-7852-8) and SAW was invited to contribute a chapter.  We were then invited to run a workshop in April 2015 as part of the Northeast Global Education Centre's spring lecture series.

We visited the Horace Mann Lab School near Boston and worked with class teacher Linda Connell and her wonderful children to deliver a SAW project on the theme of spring in nature.  Student teachers were able to drop in to observe or join in with the lesson.  We had a great time and look forward to returning in the near future.
